Refrigeration engineering accessories – types and applications
Our store has all kinds of refrigeration engineering accessories. They include doors and cold rooms. What are they, and what are they used for? Read today’s post to find out.
Types of cold room doors
Food processing is a particularly discerning sector. All devices and equipment must conform to safety and health requirements. Cold room door is a special type of refrigerating engineering component. Its design differs radically from standard doors for other rooms. Cold room doors come in several varieties:
- hinged single cold room door – most popular in narrow passages and corridors;
- hinged double cold room door – provides wide access to the cold room; can be used in a single or double-leaf mode;
- sliding cold room door – the most convenient type; it can be installed only under specific structural conditions.
Cold room door can be made from chrome-nickel stainless steel, aluminium, or sheet steel with white plastic coating. The core of the door is PU foam, and removable rubber seals run along its perimeter.
Depending on the internal temperature, the door can be 8 or 12 cm thick. The door is installed in a PU-core frame with galvanised steel anchors. The threshold is made of aluminium and can be flush-mounted. The frame and threshold have heating elements and a thermostat to prevent overheating. The door has a safety release. It is a stainless lever on the inner and outer side for emergency opening.
Cold and freezer rooms
Our refrigeration engineering accessories include freezer and cold rooms used mostly in production facilities and large hotels or restaurants. Refrigeration engineering deals with removing heat from the environment. It distinguishes two main types of storage devices: cold rooms with temperatures from 0 to +10°C and freezer rooms with –5 to –25°C.
Our rooms are made of composite panels with EPS or PUR core. Polyurethane is a better insulator, and the core thickens for cold rooms is 6 cm, while for freezer rooms, 12 cm. For EPS core, cold room panels are 10 cm, and freezer room panels are 20 cm thick.
