Circular economy is characteristic of how our planet functions. The circulation of water, carbon, oxygen or nitrogen are prime examples. So why not use the ideas that nature provides us with? The reserves of raw materials that the world uses are dwindling at an alarmingly fast pace, and the prices of products and supplies – based on these raw materials – are proving increasingly unstable.
At Kingspan, we quickly recognized the need to make rational use of resources and create products that will be created in an atmosphere of respect for nature, will serve our customers for years, and after that will be recycled and become material for future products. Maximize utility, minimize waste – that’s the slogan we propose!

1. Lighter and leaner

QuadCore® insulation core is eight times lighter compared to mineral wool cores and thinner than most products on the market! At the same time, it retains excellent thermal and mechanical properties. And less weight means less transportation and easier installation, for which neither many large machines nor a large group of workers are needed. QuadCore® also remains easy to disassemble, which promotes product reuse.

2. Excellent thermal insulation performance

With its closed cell structure and innovative insulating foam, QuadCore® guarantees the most favorable thermal performance coefficient among all sandwich panels on the market. That’s only 0.019 W/m2! Compared to insulation based on mineral wool, it offers up to 50 percent savings, and compared to PIR/PUR foam – about 20 percent. It is therefore an excellent building material for sustainable construction.

3. Made of recycled materials

The steel used to create QuadCore® insulating core panels is made in our factories in the UK and Ireland and currently consists of 25% recycled material. The Kingspan laboratories are constantly working to improve the process of using recycled, biobased and renewable raw materials, so we are confident that the percentage will increase!

4. EcoSafe insulation

Modern construction requires modern solutions. To meet these needs, we used fully environmentally safe foam in the QuadCore® insulation core. The product shows negligible impact on global warming. You will successfully use it to achieve better environmental performance of the building. You will reduce heat loss and carbon emissions. Your loved ones and the planet will thank you for it!

5. Using renewable energy sources

As we point out in our “Planet Passionate” report, by 2030 all factories where we produce QuadCore® will reach zero-emission. We will achieve this through renewable energy, which already supports the creation processes at all of our facilities in the UK and Ireland. And that’s not all! In North Wales, we have implemented a novel idea of reusing EPS blocks and pallets. This is yet another step on the way to developing a circular economy.

6. Multi-year warranty – quality you can rely on!

For sandwich panels with QuadCore® core, you get a 25-year guarantee of the invariability of the product’s thermal insulation over time. The initial performance will remain the same for many years, even under extremely adverse weather conditions and changing intensity of building use. By choosing Kingspan sandwich panels, you can accurately predict heating costs. And thanks to the anti-moisture effect characteristic of QuadCore®, you don’t have to worry about the appearance of additional costs of fighting mold or mildew.

7. Return the product, give it a second life

Recycling is very important in a circular economy. With this in mind, we have launched a program allowing you to return our insulated panels, which will soon include QuadCore®. As a customer, you can return unneeded Kingspan sandwich panels to us – whether used for many years or installed at the end of a building’s life, and we will reuse them, giving them a second life.
